What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis (hip-NOH-sis) is a trance-like state in which a person becomes more aware and focused on particular thoughts, feelings, images, sensations, or behaviors. While under hypnosis, a person may feel calm, relaxed, and more open to suggestion.

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind with special identifying characteristics as follows:

  •  An extraordinary quality of mental, physical and emotional relaxation.

  •  An emotionalized desire to satisfy the suggested behavior. The subject feels like

following the hypnotist’s instructions, directions, and suggestions, except those that

generate conflict with the subject’s values; i.e., character attitudes, religious beliefs, and                        moral principles.

Massage Table

What happens during Hypnotherapy session?

Hypnotherapy session is a deeply relaxing experience like a guided mediation.  You remain fully clothed, covered with a blanket (or light sheet if you prefer). Clients at the office can either choose from sitting in a recliner or on a massage table with pillow and blanket.  Hypnotherapist is a few feet away from you guiding you through the session. Sessions last about 40 to 45 min long, but not counting the talking before and after the session. Clients are given homework but it only takes a few minutes daily in between visits. During a session you don't have to do anything except be open and willing. You close your eyes and just be there for your session. Sessions two and after you will be asked instructions with yes or no response.  You may feel some heaviness, lightness, releasing of energy, tingling or sleepiness as energy blocks are removed as energy flow improves.  Calming music is played throughout the treatment.  Most clients experience a sense of calm, similar to deep meditation, and many fall asleep. But no worries if you do happen to go to sleep it is just a deeper state of trance allowing for larger blocks and obstacles to be removed from the subconscious mind. Afterwards, clients may experience a release, a sense of calm, feel refreshed, and or revitalized. Clients remember everything that went on during session. This is not stage hypnosis. You can never do anything against your morals, values, and ethics.

Bedroom

How does remote Hypnotherapy sessions work?

It can be done by phone, zoom, or a different virtual platform. It is best to be in a quiet environment where you can lie down with no distractions. Best to have a blanket close by or on you in case you get cold.
